DAY 777 ( Two Seasons, One Photograph )

Back in July I took a photo of a park bench overlooking the Clarion River.  It was lush, it had some fog and sunset factors in it.  In fact, my award-winning trail-bridge was taken the same day!  Beautiful day/evening for photography.  Earlier this week, I went back to Clear Creek.  It was cold, and it was in between snowing and raining.  The snow that accumulated on the ground was slowly melting away.  I went back to the same spot to take a similar photo.  When I got home, I noticed the two photos, months apart were merely feet away from being the same photo.  Enough to edit together:

DAY 776 [ Winter at Clear Creek ]

Clear Creek State Park is a 1,211.19-acre Pennsylvania state park in Barnett and Heath Townships, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.  Many of the facilities seen today at the park were constructed during the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps.  Creek State Park is 12 miles (19 km) from Brookville on Pennsylvania Route 949 at the confluence of Clear Creek and the Clarion River.

DAY 773 [ Coca-Cola ]

Another studio setting.  With a three-light set-up, this is of a Coke bottle I found in the middle of the woods in 2014. This old Coca-Cola Bottle had Winston-Salem, NC on the bottom of the green glass.  Although it looks clean in the photo (thank you photoshop), it was buried in the mud for many years.  I sold the bottle to some family members in November 2014.

The above masks came from the SPIRIT store in the Cranberry Mall in Western Pennsylvania.  The mask is white metal with a lace and rhinestone pattern.    I set up shop in a studio like setting with two flashes.  The flash to the left was at 1/32 power and back light the mask.  Special blue light added by a third light set 90 degrees at the left of the mask.  The flash to the right was at a 45 degree angle away from the camera and at 1/8 power.  The lace mask sat on glass.  The camera was set at 2", f22, and ISO-50 at 70mm.  Smoke and lighting effects added in Photo-Shop.

DAY 769 [ Kennywood Amusement Park ]

Kennywood Amusement Park

The Thunderbolt.  A wooden roller coaster, it was a renovation of the Pippin. It was ranked the Ultimate Roller Coaster and King of Coasters by the New York Times in 1974. The coaster is unusual in that the lift hill isn't immediately out of the station. Instead, the lift hill is in the middle of the ride.

A Carousel Horse on the Grand Carousel in Kennywood.
Although it is referred to as the Merry-Go-Round, "Grand Carousel" remains its official name. The ride is a Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmark and is Kennywood's third and largest carousel. It is also the last carousel that was ever built by William Dentzel, and much like many other of Kennywood's vintage rides, has an immense history.
The two notable non-horse animals featured on the ride are the tiger and the lion. It is one of three rides at Kennywood with a ride start/stop bell that dates back to the origin of the ride.
Music is provided by a 1916 Wurlitzer Style #153 Military Band Organ, which is the oldest of its kind in existence, and possibly the first of more than 140 style #153 organs built between 1916 and 1936.

Another Carousel Horse on the Grand Carousel in Kennywood.

A wooden racing roller coaster with a track that is looped over on itself to create the appearance of two separate, parallel tracks; the ride in fact consists of one track referred to as a moebius track. The winning side is the one that passes the black and white checkered-flag finish line above the brake run just before the station, and is signaled by one of two red lights on either side of the operators' booth. This is one of 3 rides that uses a bell to signal its start and stop.
